    Good Morning,

This question pertains to a 2003 RCLB that I own which I bought and installed a new after market heritage grille.

The issue I'm having is once the grille was installed the release no longer moves the hook far enough out to clear the catch. I can stick my hand/arm underneath the grille and pull down the rod to clear the catch.

I like the appearance of the new grille however I'm concerned that the grille that is attached is not very strong (moves like a loose tooth). Is there a way to adjust the rod in order for it to move the hook out further?

If not, has any one removed the secondary latch system entirely? I understand the reason why it's on there and normally I don't remove safety items. However, I have not heard of a primary hood latch release failing in many years.

BTW the truck is driven less than 2k/year, parked in a garage in a dry climate.

    Thanks.
