Hood Bulge - Removing Front Panel of Insert

Trying to find out if you can remove the front panel of the insert (black piece) of the hood bulge. Looking into seeing if I could install some small amber LED's to the front part, but I would need to run the wires through the insert and out the back. Would be difficult if the front part did not come off.

I was able to find the below picture, but wanted to confirm that the front piece actually came off and it wasn't difficult to take off or put back together. Thanks, appreciate the feedback

 

Yes you can. Once the hood bulge is off there some Phillip head screws that secure that black piece.

 

Yup. It all comes apart easily, no tabs, no welds, just a few small screws.

We took a donor one (bought used locally) and gave the main chrome part a DIY bed liner spray and put it all back together again.
