Hood Bulge question

Can you buy just the mesh part of the hood bulge?

I'm thinking of doing the raptor lights there and looks like I have to drill a hole bigger. Just seeing how I can reverse it if I change my mind.

Pretty sure that’s incorrect. That looks like the hood scoop insert. I’m almost positive it’s part of the bulge purchase itself.

Dang...guess I could always find a cheap chrome hood bulge and swap the mesh insert over...Thanks!

 

Hey paradizecityz!

You could always use your original out of your chrome bulge. You maybe even do like I am, take your original chrome set up and color match it so you can “swap” without much fuss if you change your mind about the lights.

I am doing my chrome grille surround this way with a “limited” insert. I will have the original insert “mesh” inside my bulge just in case I change my mind and do not want to run the NSV bar that sits in my current color matched bulge.

Of course this is a “work in progress” that does not require any truck down time.

Yeah I don’t get rid of my OEM stuff for a while just for this sort of thing. I do have the black insert out of my color matched bulge that I may possible be able to part with...

 

The only reason I'm doing this is because when I switched to the color matching grill, I couldn't put my front camera in same spot and had to move it up above the emblem (which I wanted to anyways) but I have raptor lights and so the camera is not centered. Just will move raptor lights out of grill and do new ones in the hood bulge and center my camera. I like the look now but was just asking ahead of time in case I grew tired of it and wanted to remove the lights so no rush now

 

The black plastic part of the hood bulge is not sold separately.

I never went cheap on any of my lights. VLEDS is more, but there customer service is second to none for lights.

I emailed back and forth with them and went with all the "parts" they recommended based off the lights I chose and how I was going to wire it. I had at least 8-10 emails back and forth over a 3 month span before I pulled the trigger. They helped every step of the way without issue

I ended up doing it...a little mad at myself because I took off the mesh to do the hole and didn't measure correctly LOL
