What is the maximum hitch weight for a 2024 Tundra Platinum? (Short Bed non Hybrid). Or where can I find it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Owners manual should give you the language. That's where it is for the 2/2.5 gen, anyways. It stated something catch-all like "10% of towing capacity" or something. Curious what you find.

Max hitch weight will vary depending on whether or not your using a WDH or not.

2024 Tundra brochure shows your model (in 4x4) has a max tow of 11,050lbs. You need a minimum of 10% of that weight on the tongue. So they are saying it can handle 1105. Max payload is 1665. Leaving 560 for a two people and supplies. I’d say 1105 should be the max.

For half ton trucks, tow weight is pretty much meaningless. Dont worry so much about max tow weight.

Instead, focus on payload/tongue weight. In a half ton truck, in most cases you will run of out payload before you run over "max tow weight"

Short story- if the tongue weight/payload in within your trucks capacity, you can tow it. Now there are exceptions, especially with longer trailers and such, but for most cases staying under payload capacity will mean a safe tow.

OP wants to know max tongue weight, or max towable weight I’m assuming. Towable is easy. Look at the hitch and see what its max rating is. Then, look at the shank and ball equipment and see what the max rating is. Use the lower of the two. Then see what the truck is rated for and use the lower of those two. The value will be different if using a WDH.

Payload capacity will be in your door jam. On the same sticker with your vin and tire pressure recommendations. That will be your max hitch weight.

    Payload is not hitch weight.

Tongue weight should be 10-15 percent of total trailer weight.

Max GCVW is in the owners manual.
Max GVWR for the truck will be on the door sticker
Max trailer GVWR is usually inside a cabinet door somewhere on most travel trailers along with a ton of other trailer specs

The max hitch weight (tongue weight) is determined by the manufacturer of the hitch and is specific to the hitch, not the vehicle. It is not a formula from max tow rating of the hitch. It is not the payload of the vehicle the hitch it is attached to. It is different with or without using a WDH. A hitch may be rated for 500# hitch weight without WDH and 1000# with WDH as the hitch carries the weight different with or without the WDH setup. Typically there is a sticker or metal stamping on the hitch itself with that information. The max tongue weight will be the lowest of these ratings - payload, hitch tongue rating, or hitch / shank implement being used.

If the hitch is rated for 1400# of tongue weight, but the payload rating is only 1250#, then 1250# is your max. Same hitch with a shank only rated for 600# then the max is 600#. If the hitch is only rated for 1000# tongue weight and the payload is 1250#, then the max hitch weight is only 1000#.
