Hi everyone! This is my first post, glad to be apart of the community!

Im having an issue with my head and fog lights. I bought the truck (2015 limited crew) on halloween never had issues with my lights. Not sure if its a coincidence or what but I went to a car wash, one that i've been to before, and that night I noticed both headlights, hi and lo were not working. Previous owner swapped the headlights (pic posted below)

the four 15a headlight fuses are ok, and the headlight relay was ok.
I did notice something strange while checking those fuses though the drivers side had some load resistor (PN: PILOT-25W6RJ)spliced into the harness but oddly the passenger side did not. It does look like one was previously attached because two of those wires had some bare wire showing from a wire clip & for some reason these wires were taped together as a bundle instead of individually? anyway it apparently has been like that since I bought it with no issues until now....Any insight or things to look at? Thank you! Pictures of LH and RH harness also attached. Screen Shot 2022-12-28 at 11.58.05 PM.jpgIMG_8781.jpgIMG_8784.jpg

My guess is that the part you are holding is a resistor that was necessary for the owner-installed headlights to work correctly and not hyperflash. It may be that the resistor stopped working and needs to be replaced. I would also get some electrical tape on those bare wire spots.

thank you for your response! you were right it was for hyper flash of the led daytime running lights not my actual headlights. so i don’t think that’s the issue, and chances are headlights and fog lights didn’t all go out at once do you think the light switch could be the issue?

I would check that you're getting power to the lights. I know you checked the fuses but I suspect there may be another fuse that you missed. There are 2 fuse boxes, one in the engine bay and one in the driver foot well

I wouldn't think the light stalk switch would be the issue. I would check the fuses again (engine compartment box and under the dash box) to make sure the fuses are good. I would check them with a multimeter for continuity. Fuses sometimes look ok but aren't. I own a 2015 myself and I am attaching a copy of the fuses and locations for your reference. Some of the bare wires in your picture may have vibrated together and shorted something out. You may want to replace the resistor and see if that corrects your issues. It looks like it has seen some age.

Man that resistor has seen better days as has that wiring. I'd replace the resistor and fix the bare wires. Also, are you running halogens or LEDs? Not sure why you'd hyperflash if you've got no LEDs.

All of the input is much appreciated, thanks!
@texasrho83 no kidding, The daytime running lights are hyper LED and I removed and there is hyper flash, so although not my main issue, that resistor is pretty rough and will replace
@NewImprovedRon & @831Tun I will recheck the fuses with a multimeter and look at the other fusebox inside (I didn't see a fuse for the headlights but will look again. Thanks for the fuse reference!

The wire that is white with a black stripe is most likely your ground. The majority of all the electrical issues I've had, or worked on, stem from bad grounds or involve one. Make sure that ground wire is whole.

Hey everybody, just wanted to give some closure, idk the what the odds are but both headlights burnt out at the exact same time. I replaced and now everything is working including the led fog lights. Thank you for your help and suggestions!
