History... changed at 1000, 5000,10000,15000, 20000 all at dealership with their oil.
25000 done at a mechanic shop with Kirkland 0-20 and OEM filter.
If my memory serves me, analog oil pressure gauge always remained around the 1/2way mark no matter how I was driving.
After last change, it fluctuates between 1/2 and 3/4 depending on RPM until the engine shifts to higher gears and then around 1/2 steady at 65mph.
Idles at about 1/2 and then jumps up to 3/4 for and stop and go driving.
-Could the different brand but same viscosity be responsible??? (sounds crazy)
-Could the shop have overfilled the oil?
I didn't ask for the .3qt back as I gave them 8 qts.
-Could and extra .3qt with an incomplete drain be the problem?
Oil is so clean and clear it's hard to get a good reading, but it seems to be at a MINIMUM at the "full mark on the dipstick".
Frustrated with the change in gauge reading....
    Thanks for any input,
    E

Over fill is not going to make oil pressure higher. Let it sit overnight and check it in the morning before you start it. Sounds fine too me.

One time I accidentally mixed in one jug of 0w20 with 5w30 and the oil pressure gauge was 3/4 of the way. Immediately changed it and it went back to its normal.

Oil pressure should fluctuate with RPM. I would be worried if it didn't

I noticed oil pressure was staying around 3/4 instead of 1/2 after I changed oil, it settled back down to 1/2 after some driving.
I thought the same thing, that I overfilled, but that was not the case. My theory is the oil filter was not yet saturated and air had to get fully pushed of the media maybe?

I use Kirkland now. Had the same higher gauge reading after oil changes with Mobil1 too. Same on all my vehicles. Higher for the first 500 miles or so then it settles.
