HID low beam and fog bulbs burned out at different times, replacement bulbs did not work. Fuse looks good. Curious about ballast, I am not the original owner and the 2010 truck had previously been wired for HID.

My question is some ballast are 35 watt others 55 I believe, not knowing the wattage of the existing ballast does it matter what wattage ballast I purchase to re-install ?

I have HIDs on my scooter. They are digital ballasts and you do have to match wattage, bulb to ballast.

Not true. You can drive a 35w watt bulb with a 55w ballast. It will simply over drive the 35w bulb, making it brighter and shorten it’s life by 20-25%. 35w ballast are the norm though. Just don’t buy junky Chinese ballast and you’ll be fine.
