    What the hell is that?!

    …what are we looking at?

I understand that some faux carbon fiber accents have been added, but what is that weird wiring conduit with a cable clamp doing there?

There should be two thin cables in the door that terminate in round retention fittings. Those fittings should fit into 2 corresponding sockets on the door handle hardware, and the door handle hardware is mounted to your door panel.

    Did the cables get damaged?

Did the sockets on the hardware get damaged?

What parts did your shop order?

My idea is that someone was customizing the truck in a way that necessitated removing the door panel, and during that process they damaged either the cables or the hardware the cables fit to.

If it was you, you need to order replacement parts, and I recommend @Roman .

If it was a shop, I would also recommend @Roman to them as well.

There is a ball on the end of the cable.
That ball seats into place in the door handle.
If the ball is still there, perhaps the door handle is broken.
If the ball is missing, you need a new cable.

It very unlikely that the cable broke or the ball came off the end.
But I guess it could happen.

Any recent audio work or anything that would involve someone pulling the door panel off?
There are 2 cables, 1 for the door lock and 1 for the door opening handle.
    Any chance those got reversed?
Does the door lock move when you lock and unlock the doors?
