So looking at this diagram, it is a electromechanical held switch. My question is which two posts go to battery, and which two posts go to the assesory?? When my ignition is on the switch should hold in the on position and when the ignition is off it should spring itself to off.20190827_101633.jpg

Circuit schematics generally show the circuit in a de-energized state; is this a relay? If the coil is meant to work at 28 V then it won't be very useful in your truck.

It’s a DPDT relay. Power wires are 7 & 8, doesn’t seem to matter which is hot and which is ground.

When off, 1 is connected to 2, and 4 is connected to 5.
When on, 1 is connected to 3 and 4 is connected to 6.

The relay may not open until 9V but when does it shut?

So would pin 1 and 4 be power and ground to the assesory?

Pins 1/4 are from the DC supply and pins 2/5 (relay de-energized) or 3/6 (relay energized) are to the electrical load. Pins 7 and 8 are used to supply power to the coil.

Here is a picture of how I got it. Should I leave pins 1 and 4 soldered together?20190828_080832.jpg
