    Hey Paint,

Welcome, do you have any active codes at the moment? It can take some time for your truck to relearn after you swap in a new battery (go for a drive atleast 30 minutes), this should fix the problem. If not, it is likely your throttle body could use a good cleaning. When was the last time the plugs were replaced? I would start with a general tune-up and replace your fuel filter while you are at it, quick and easy job.

    Good Luck

Look for vacuumed leaked/ broken hoses then clean throttle body . Check spark plugs . Check or replace fuel filter

I'd recommend taking a look at the MAF sensor too. Clean it up along with the throttle body. Take the truck somewhere to have the fuel filter replaced. It's not worth the pain for the few bucks you'll save.

    Stock for now
I had this same problem as well. Changed plugs, cleaned throttle body, checked spark, changed fuel filter. After all of that the problem was still there. Did a compression test and cylinder number 7 was about 165 while all the others were in the 210-215 range. Hoping this isn't the case with yours but I would check compression to rule this out.

I have a 2000 tundra with 376,000 miles that I bought new. Everything that has been said is right. One of those things should take care of the problem. good luck!

My personal experience with low idle...

I properly cleaned the MAF and really spent a good amount of time cleaning the throttle body (wow was it is dirty!). Fixed my idle immediately. Couldn't believe the difference. Good some good cleaner and really get in there. Don't be afraid to open up the throttle body and clean the back of it as well, that was where it was very dirty. I bought the more expensive blue 'shop rags' that are really just thick paper towels. They were a life saver on this project.

After this I changed the PCV valve/grommet & replaced the air filter for good measure.

Any questions, just ask away! Best of luck on getting this fixed!

Replace air filter, clean throttle body, clean MAF sensor. Fixed my idol issues in my 1st Gen right quick.
