Whoa.....a lot of the same pics in one post!! :violent:

Not sure what they're called but "sliders" come to mind and looks like it serves essentially the same purpose as a skid plate.

Yea sorry bout the pics not sure what happened. OK that's kinda what I was thinking. Whoever put them on welded them to the frame and pressure on the rear end has cracked the frame where the weld is so now I need to find myself a good welder to fix it before it gets worse

Ditto on BS traction bars. Why weld on "sliders" that would actually accomplish nothing.

No need to have that traction bar on your rear leaf spring truck. Unless you have 1200 HP and going to cause axle wrap-up, remove that thing........

Get us a picture of the connection points. Looks more like anti-axle wrap struts to me. If they are welded and the frame is cracked you should run. Not good!

^^^Anti axle struts that are not needed and clearly have caused some serious issues. Everything I see in your pics looks like a jerry rigged setup to me. Hopefully you can get your frame fixed. Just don't let your car insurance folks know what's up....IMHO...

If some outfit /"fab" shop is actually selling those "things" we need to make sure no one else ever gets them.

Definitely remove them. I've seen a few rally vehicles over the years and I've never seen anything like that. Maybe someone here has, but I doubt it. You do have a nice Tundra though..I'm thinking @Colorado CJ can give better insight on the frame weld fix.

Definitely anti axle wrappers with very cheesy mounts to be polite. Not sure why the previous owner went that route. Very sub standard welds to be polite. OK..Crappy ass unsafe welds. Doesn't matter now... Take them off. Looks like frame isn't compromised too bad. Someone who has better knowledge with frame fixes will chime in...

Hopefully cracks can be fixed. They are pretty small but need them fixed before they get worse. And ill definitely be taking the rails off!

Most of the visible cracks look like they're just in the crappy weld on install. Remove this junk and grind everything smooth. If you're able to do it yourself or need a shop, weld splice plates over any cracks in the frame.

Attached to frame and axle. If you want to swap to a 4 link you are part way there.

Agree crack is on weld and not frame. Either remove or clean it up and reweld.
As your truck sits now you don't need these. They aren't doing anything for you.

Now if you were going over a large enough rock to span the width and contact both you would have a nice slide to avoid the rear dif.

Exactly, just unbolt em. If you don't want the brackets then get a grinder and grind em off, clean it up with wire brush and spot hit some rustoleuom spray paint
