Hi. So to make this short, I'd like to get the radio or more specifically the cellular hotspot to be on without the key in the truck. I'm hopping there is a fuse/relay I can just inject 12v into to power it up. Any suggestions?

Before I get a bunch of why do that... Moved to new house but internet can't get working until they bury some cable. No idea when that's going to happen. WiFi from truck is short range but I can repeat it pretty easily (tried it and works fine). Already paying for the unlimited service so beats what I've got.

    Thanks

    Welcome from NY.
If you figure it out just be careful, the factory batteries aren't that good.

You probably don't have to hotwire the radio at all. Make sure your A/C system is off and turn your key on accessories. I don't think anything else will be drawing power but the radio (as long as nothing is plugged in to the 12v power outlets). But as Jim said above, I wouldn't rely on the battery to help you out for long. Maybe keep a charger on it.

But I don't know if that will effect your ability to lock the truck, either (key on acc).

Yeah. I would hook up some external power. The problem is I just really don't like leaving the key in the ignition unattended like that.

I contemplated doing that and pulling a start/run fuse/relay but it seems better to just power the radio.
