    HI Guys

So the oem receiver bar that came with my truck new is rated at 11000 lbs which is great. My car trailer has a 2" coupler.

I am trying to find a 2" receiver ball that is more then 5000-6000 rating.

Amazon has them up to 12,000. You need to match the diameter of the hole in the receiver bar to the bolt diameter on the bar. You don't want any play. I had a buddy that learned this the hard way. My 2" ball is rated for 7500 lbs and has a 1-1/2" nut.

the oem receiver hole for the ball looks to be 1 1/4"

so looks like I am looking for
2" ball with shank of 1 1/4" I do see in my local stores 5-6000 rated versions but nothing more.

inside the box of the receiver from Toyota they do include an insert that allows you to fit skinner shank into the 1 1/4 whole but prefer not to do it that way.

Don't use an insert. You won't find a ball with the weight rating you want with a smaller shank. Ebay has a 2" 10,000 lb ball with a 1-1/4" shank. I think I got my 7500 lber from Uhaul. You can check Etrailer but be prepared to wade through pages of stuff even if you just search for a 2" ball.

Toyota recommends anything over 5,000 to use a WDH. They have the larger diameter ball.

I only use forged steel solid hitches. They are not hard to find in stores or online.

    I don’t trust Chinese welds!

I haven’t seen any for over that rating and the fact that you’d have to look high and low or buy some Chinese pos off eBay to get one should tell ya something.
I’d imagine your car trailer should have had a 2-5/16” ball.

Check out the Convert-a-Ball. They don't rate their interchangeable balls individually but their 1" shanks are packaged with combinations of 1 7/8, 2" and 2 5/16" balls and the sets are rated at 10,000 pounds regardless of which ball is used. I've used them for 15 years on everything from 2k utility trailers to 10k hay trailers and have never had a problem.
