What with the outstanding recalls on my SR5 and our minor struggles with storage in the DC, I am starting to consider trading up. I found this limited CM/6.5 bed locally and it looks pretty close to what I want. But due to the way Toyota has different base equipment in each trim and different options I can't really tell if it has some things I want. I am going to drive down to the dealer and have a look but thought I'd ping you guys first. Window sticker linked at bottom. Interesting that I can't seem to be able build this exact configuration... near as I can tell... on Toyota web site.

    So, does this Tundra have:
    PVM/MTM
    32 gallon gas tank
    Front and rear park assist
    Power folding BSM side mirrors
    Digital rear view mirror
    Seat memory

One other question: is this VIN production # after the fuel line issue had been corrected in production? If not and the recall applies, I will forget about this one. Edit: Toyota and NHTSA recall sites say this one is not affected.

I have all these things in my SR5 with options except seat memory and would hope that a higher trim would also have them.

The initial number was insulting. LOL. They supposedly match CarMax for trade in value and if you believe the number they gave me, which is not what I am seeing on some of the other sites, I would have lost more value on this Tundra in 6 months than I lost on my 2009 Tacoma in 15 years. So, I walked... discussions may resume... or not. Dealers don't seem to get it. If you are gonna lowball trades then you have zero standing to ask for MSRP for new. And certainly not more than MSRP.

the used market isnt what it was before, anyway, good luck with your endeavor.

maybe try more than one dealer if you can

Oh, I agree the market has shifted. But losing ~23% value in 6 months? Nope. That is in Soviet era Lada range... or maybe current RAM range? And the market shift also applies to new. Dealers can't have the profits both ways.

And this is not an endeavor. It was just a feeler. I already got one of the good Tundras, no real issues, pretty darned good MPG.

I paid MSRP $58,400 in January. What the dealer said CarMax offered... I did not yet confirm... was $45,000. LOL. I'll be checking all the online sites to see if any are favorable enough for me to try to make this deal. I'd also ask for $$ off MSRP on the new one. Maybe 5-10%. All they can do is say no... and I'd still have a great Tundra... except for the bloody recalls... to drive.

8000 isnt brand new, man, lol.

anyways, I hope it works out the way you want.

Part of the problem is the market has shifted, those who paid MSRP and now the values have gone down will feel the pain for a while. You can get well under MSRP now on new so these two paths have crossed. I also wonder if having a DC is a hit on resale, the crewmax is what most people want.

we wont even talk about the people who paid way over MSRP

Yeah, I had him down to an unspecified amount under MSRP on a phone call as I was driving home. LOL. In my case, where this is just a small upgrade and attempt to dodge the recalls on my current Tundra, I don't need a vehicle. So, they'll have to do way better. Or they can sell it to someone else.

Vroom also says ~$45,000. Carvana said it was "stumped" and will get back to me??? LOL. So apparently the market for used Tundras is about the same as the horse manure from my friends' farm! LOL.

I don't think DC are that desirable, no offense, I've never even seen one yet, I bet that is a factor, plus the market change is significant like we talked about.

maybe the best bet, is just enjoy your rig, don't worry about all of it , and toyota will fix the recalls over time
