Help me decide which looks better

Which one do you guys prefer? For the center grill. Same color match grill surround or black? Debating which one to install.

 

I think the white color match looks better

BUT the black doesn't look that bad

Too much black in top pic. Go with the white grill surround.

I have spare brand new black hood bulge and surround. Guess I’ll sell them lol.

 

If you like the Pro insert, you could move it to the white surround.

Yeah it’s a pain parking but I had my first tundra since 2012, but you get used to it after awhile.

 

Color match all day. The other, as people said, has too much black and you lack the definition of the grill you get with a color matched surround.

 

Color matched hands down…

 

Who the hell cares what other people like. It's a cosmetic change, not anything that actually affects the functioning of the truck. OP - What do you like?

Haha I actually couldn’t decide that’s why I asked for some feedback, I didn’t mind both. I ended up installing the white surround after.

 

I vote color match and vote you take off that 90s style bug deflector.

lol no offense taken, I just got this truck less than 1 week. I’m slowly working on it.

 

Did you have a black hood bulge too? If so it could work (the black surround one) and would be interesting to see. If not, I prefer the color matched.

@PermaFrostTRD , yep I also have the top hood bulge but I didn’t install it. I just wanted to test with the black surround to see how it looked whether I like that one or with white surround.

With the black bulge on top would had too much I think, so I didn’t bother trying that configuration. I found a picture on google as reference to with the hood bulge black as well.

 

true with that limited grille it makes the black surround and bulge almost stand out too much. Having the black hexagonal grille (sr5, platinum) would give it almost a 3rd Gen look I think. either way, color matched is always a solid choice.

 

I think with all Tundras, color matched is the way to go. Any time you have an offsetting color around the grille, it just stands out too much and looks fake. IMO

 

Color match and ditch the ugly hood protector..
