Hello, I am new to this stuff and I am trying to sort out my exhaust. I have an 04 tundra sr5, 4.7L access cab with the 6.5' bed and I recently had all the exhaust system fall off. the driver side flush with the rear of the Cat and the passenger side is showing signs of the same. I first noticed it when there was a aggressive rattling noise when I closed my door and realized the connector going to my driver cat on the y pipe fell off, as I was patching this the muffler and tailpipe fell off, as I fixed those the sweep from the driver cat fell off. At this point I am just looking into replacing the whole system front to back and I am hoping for some input.

    Y pipe/resonator -(mine didn't/doesn't have a resonator so I am confuse)
this is where I need help as I cannot find anything to go with the Magnaflow.
Muffler- Currently have a Flowmaster super 40
Tail pipe- I have the original but it looks like the welder was bling and couldn't figure out the voltage on his metal spaghetti machine.

If you have any suggestions for a matching y-pipe or resonator combo idea I am all ears, I may have to go for a cheap option in the mean time but I appreciate anything, I plan to have this truck for a long time.

Thank you for your input, any help is greatly appreciated.

I could've sworn magnaflow had a y pipe before. Maybe I'm thinking of a different brand. Either way, you can always take it to a muffler shop for a y pipe and resonator. Personally, I don't use a resonator on a chambered muffler (ie: flowmaster 40), only on a straight through style muffler. Resonator is to reduce drone. They are not required though. Totally up to your preference.

The magnaflow cats are highly recommended here though. I wish I had bought them instead of cheap cats.

Like she came out of the factory.
Concur with above. Don't buy cheapo cats. I made that mistake and it lasted 18 months. It started throwing the dreaded P0420. Ponied up for a Toyota cat to replace it. Available, but painful....I suspect the Magnaflows are a reasonable compromise.

My mistake it's the JBA y pipe I was thinking about. You might be able to find a better price, but here a link to the first one I found. It's pricey by comparison, but the design should flow better. Might not be worth that price though.

This is one thing that, if Keith @ DD designed and made, I would definitely pay to change on my truck.

As long as you understand you're going to next to zero improvement in performance, so it's really not worth dropping extra coin into it ....

I would focus on picking up a pair of compatible cats, and a cat-back kit. Magnaflow cats are reported to actually work w/our trucks without throwing codes (Walker and Summit are the other two brands that don't seem to be problematic), and there are a few companies making cat-back kits for our trucks.

He makes an equal length x pipe. It's waaay cooler than a y pipe.

I'd rather have the Y-pipe, X-pipes are notorious - across numerous vehicles, not just the 1st gen Tundra specifically - for causing murderous in-cab drone that will drive you insane.

I will tell you from my experience with Keith's dual race exhaust with the equal length x pipe, 16" mufflers w/ resonators, and long tubes, there is a break-in period. In that two months or so, the drone around 3k-5k rpm was deafening. Once it's broken-in though... Chef's kiss. I hated my DD race exhaust the first two months. Now I love it. Truck sounds like a race car at WOT and the drone is gone.
