    Hey, I’ll likely spend most of my time lurking and looking up info if I need repair help or whatnot. So far, from what I’ve seen just searching the site as a non member, you all have fantastic info and no hesitation to help others out. That’s fantastic! I have a new to me 04 Tundra SR5 with 197k on the odometer. This was a panic purchase when my F150 was totaled by a tree in a recent ice storm. I have to say, after a little hesitation purchasing, I think I got the better end of the deal...only time will tell. My experience with Toyota is limited to my daily driver Prius, but now I’m looking into making sure I can wring every mile out of this tundra. Even with the age and mileage, this thing is sweet! I’m going to assume it’s lived a rough life so far, since I picked it up super cheap off a no-name used lot. But, with a green title and an independent inspection at a Toyota dealer prior to purchase, even the Toyota mechanics were surprised. The immediate maintenance I know I’ll have to do is a center support bearing on the drive shaft (looks easy enough for my backyard mechanic ability), and eventually a steering rack that has a little fluid weeping, nothing drastic to make me worry at this point. I can’t say if the timing has ever been done, at least not at a Toyota dealer, but it’s already 100k+ over what I’ve read as the recommendation, so there isn’t any obvious issue with it. I’ll have to check back in later after I’ve put some miles on it to say whether I’ve found a diamond or a lemon. Take care.
