    Hello everyone,
Hope your weekend has been fantastic.

So, I’m wanting to introduce myself to everyone. I’ve lurked around a bit and done as much research as possible.

I will be pursuing in buying a new or gently used tundra within the next few weeks. It’s high time that I dump the ‘18 F150 and grab a real truck.
Will update everyone when I pull the trigger.
If anyone has any tips or options, please throw them my way!!

Thank you all! And Happy New Years!

    -Goon

You will probably find that the gently used Tundtas (late models) are close to new pricing. Great resale. Many have opted new for little price difference and better financing.
The better priced later models are at non Toyota dealerships.

    Good luck!

That’s what I’m starting to see!!
Definitely agree with the better financing options.
I’ve tried searching, are there any years I need to stay away from if I go used??

    thanks for the heads up..

Not at all, all models are awesome. 2014 starts newer body style. 07 to 20 have same chassis and engines. 5.7 better if towing or like bit more power, 4.6 capable, gas mileage a wash between the two - both suck.
21 or 22 expected redesign. 2018 introduced some more Safety features that some have issues when lifting.
All the stock audio suck, no exceptions; if you like good audio plan on upgrade of some kind.

Okay. That’s the kinda stuff I’m needing to know. Haha thanks!!
What I did find was engine and trannys have not changed. 5.7. 6 speed.
My f150 is effed..10 speed tranny is junk. you live and learn I guess.
only issue I’m gonna have is the gas mileage :rofl:

    TEXAS!
welcome from houston! more specifically i-10 / washington area.

GL in your search. bought a '19 limited in dec '18. i like to buy new and drive till wheels fall off.

i too can attest to the 10 speed tranny on the f-150.

neighbor backed into my T. usaa provided a '19 f-150. while im glad i was able to negotiate a full sized pickup as rental, this f-150 is a total piece of crap. the 10 speed is always hunting gears, resulting in a jerking sensation every time i let off / press accelerator. xlt used to be top of the line, apparently now, this is base model.

i wont start on the automatic engine stop / start at red lights.

i purchased a tundra because of the very well tested and proven 5.7 / 6 speed. it. just. runs.

again, welcome, good luck in your search, and i can assure you... you wont miss that f-150 one bit.

the savings in fuel never justify driving a piece of junk

it's been 3 weeks that my T has been in the body shop, and holy cow do i miss it!

Ahh man I’m sorry to hear that.
I’ve been through so many vehicles that way, my last two wrecks were on the front end of different trucks. Ended up having to get rid of them.
That’s a sweet looking Tundra man. Love the level and stance. Pretty much exactly what I want!!
This will be a work in progress, I have 6k miles to find a tundra. After that the warranty is over. Hope I find something and I don’t get screwed on my trade.
Good to see another HoustonTexas Guy!!
thanks for the warm welcome and introduction.
