Tried to search for this but no luck....

I have a 2017 TRD Off-Road with stock cloth heated seats. There's no Heat Level Controls, it's either ON or OFF.

They get hot quickly but they are too hot after a while. I would be nice to have a Low/Medium/High setting.

Is it possible to add this feature? If so, any instructions on how to do this?

I have no idea on that one. I'm not sure if you could get by with just making a simple swap of the switch or if more would have to happen. I don't know if the switch is what regulates the voltage being sent to the seat heaters. I guess there's only one way to find out. :)

I’m not sure about Tundra’s but I’ll chime in that on my Audi heated seats that have multiple temp setting there is a relay and switch combination that controls The duration the heating elements receives voltage Like a thermostat sent to the heating element. I would think that if your current ones are one setting it would need someway to regular the time in addition to a multi-level switch. I’m sure someone with some electrical experience could chime in.

My brother's 2016 Tacoma has adjustable temperature for his seats, I wonder if the switch is the trick for our tundras..

My 2017 Limited has 3-stage heat control, so it's definitely possible. Not sure if a new switch is all it would take, though.

Interesting!!!! It be nice if it was just a switch. I'll try to find parts diagrams of the TRD & the Limited.

My 2016 has a low & high setting. the low gets plenty warm enough for me. I've never even put it on high.

Another example of the bean counters trying to save a buck. My '13 Limited has a variable control on each front seat.

I know for thumb warmers on an ATV the hi low setting is in the switch, I'm guessing some sort of resistor is all that's needed

My 4runner had a wheel with infinite heat settings.

Your point is true. They're leather. On your question......damn if it wasn't 13° at my house yesterday morning and 15° this morning! My coldest so far was 2° one January morning in 2003. Don't much care for those blue northers.

Still, you KNOW they keep reducing the number of standard features on each successive model year. I'm glad I have the '13, and not a later model.

And Harper is only 80 miles or so north of SA. But I'm at 2000' elevation and don't have as much coastal influence.

Oh I thought you were somewhere below I10 looking at your location before I10 heads northward. Carry on. If it got down to 13 in my neck of the woods I would be looking for a warmer place to live:eek2:

Oh got it. Up in the hills. Didn't realize it got that cold up there. I can't wait till you guys start sending all that cedar pollen here next month when the wind starts kicking up from the north.

But yeah, I have a 2015 SR5 that has upgraded leather and not much different from a Limited these days. It was a Texas edition. But your point is taken. Damn TRD without a variable thermo is sort the suk for the money you pay
