So, I've had my '16 Tundra for a couple of years now and just figured that toyota uses less current through the seat elements than Ford did as they take forever and a day to actually get warm. Ok... maybe not forever, but if i'm running to the coffee shop 3 miles away, there's no point switching them on as I'll only just start to feel them by the time i get there.

Today I tried out the seat heat in my wife's new lexus... low and behold, within 20 seconds, I've got a warm butt.

So, what's your experience, do Tundra seats take forever and a day or do i need to go talk to my dealer?

yeah, within minuteS (plural) mine work... Lexus seats are within seconds... weird that there's that much difference when they're essentially the same

    Mine suck.
I don't feel like they ever get super hot and when they do warm up it takes awhile.

I rarely use them but when I do it's so cold that I have to go out and warm the truck and I'll turn them on that way they're warm when I get in. My only gripe is that they don't turn off when you turn the truck off, in other words if I kill the truck and come back later in the day when I start it the seat warmers are on.

What year Lexus? Newer Lexus are not essentially the same, newer lexus use thermoelectric elements to heat and cool... tundra still use wired heating elements and vented air to cool... lexus have heated and COOLED seats, tundra has heated and VENTED seats

My wife had a Ford Escape (now she has a Rav 4)...the seats in the Ford got HOT very quickly. They got too hot for me..never had mine above 2 1/2 on 5 scale. My Tundra does take much longer to heat up, but it never really bothered me.

i'd say they are not as warm as my 4runner seats and not nearly as warm as my 2012 F150.... i still feel them but as others have said it does take a decent time to feel it. Mine are only on/off which might be the issue as well? all my other vehicles had multiple settings. still happy i have them tho, especially with this terrible winter!

Mine come on really quick, maybe 30 seconds or so (on level 2). I can tell you that much, they are way quicker and work better then the ones I had in my 2016 F-150 Platinum. Ford uses a shit design if you have cooled seats because they use the blower function as well to heat the seats and they do not work well (takes like 10 minutes or so).

Turn the vent heat up to max, fan low......

I noticed the seats and steering wheel heats up faster.

If the AC is on, then the seats barely heats up.

    Related?? Maybe????

2014 4runner limited, leather heated seats take forever and never really get hot even on 3rd setting
2016 Tacoma, cloth seats got way to hot at 3rd setting, 2nd setting was still a tad to hot, 1st setting was just a tad underwhelming.
2017 tundra plat, leather seats got way to hot on 3rd setting, 2nd setting just a tad to hot, 1st setting was about right.

remember each person is different on how they perceive how hot the seat gets.

when the wife sits in the tundra/Tacoma, 3rd setting was just right for her.
