    Good afternoon all

I have 2nd Generation Toyota Tundra 2010 double cab SR5. Over the weekend, it appears that the heat pan over the muffler - fell from it's assigned spot and is now resting on the muffler, exhaust pipe. The rattling is pretty noticeable. It only fell from one side - the side closest to the engine (font ) of the vehicle is still attached - the bed (back) is the part that touching the exhaust pipe.

Does anyone have any recommendations to reinstall the back end of the heat pipe easily and effectively for a longer term solution? I would like to avoid a large mechanic bill but also my personal mechanic skills are very weak. So I am looking for a quick reliable fix.

Any recommendations or you tube videos is appreciated.

Thank you all for the assistance.

There should be a nut/stud that holds it to the body as I recall, might be as simple as the nut fell off and just throw another nut on there. If the stud broke off from rust, then I think you have a number of Jerry rigging options, like stainless zip tie it to the exhaust directly :D

Easiest fix is rip it out and throw in trash.

Again forgive my ignorance - but is it needed? I wonder why it was put on at all if it isn't needed.

It might provide a little protection but I didn’t worry about it.
Normally it’s so thin the bolts just push through. Pretty flimsy to fix. Liquid nail it up there. :notsure:
