I've found lots of posts regarding dropping the headliner in these trucks, but it seems like most are for running wires in the ceiling for radios, etc......if one wanted to actually take the thing out of the truck to recover it, are you able to do it without taking the rear window or a seat out to make it work? I've done headliners before, it doesn't scare me.....but getting the thing out without bending it up seems......daunting.

I can't help you. All I can say is I'm curious what your options are. If pulling the passenger seat is enough, that doesn't sound to bad.

I did a head liner in my 79 F350 4x4 crew cab, that seat laid down flat but I took the passenger door off.

This could be trouble for a DC but if you have a CM then you should be able to roll that back glass down and bend it a little to ease it out. It won't hurt to bend it a bit but a taco bend will definitely crease it.

Somehow the factory gets them in, so there must be a fairly easy way to get them out. My guess is rear window.

In double cabs without the rolldown rear window, maybe they put it in before the rear glass goes in. Or the windshield. If so, fun times getting that out!

You might check with a shop that does windshields about having your windshield removed, doing the job on the headliner, and then reinstalling the windshield. Probably be affordable as you're just covering labor and sealant/RTV materials.

I took a tour of the Tundra factory in San Antonio years ago. If I recall correctly they were sliding them in the back window opening before the glass went on. I highly recommend the tour if you are ever in the area.
