Hey, guys, so I am looking into getting a light bar set up (within the bumper type) plus ditch lights (2 units) Is that set up street legal in Texas? I only want to use them for pitch black situation when being in the middle of nowhere back roads along with high beams, and turn them off when there is oncoming traffic. Would I get pull over for that?

Check the build link in my signature.
Would help to state where you live.
Different states have different laws. And even local municipalities have sometimes more stringent laws.

totally depends on your state laws, you will need to check with your state/county/province

can't have more than 4 lights lit while driving at night and I may be paraphrasing so you can have them installed all day long it's only a matter of how many are illuminated at night which last I saw was still 4, i'm retired LEO in Austin TX

I thought Tx had a law where all external lights and lightbars have to be covered at all times except off road. But I haven't been back to Texas in awhile.

None that i'm aware of during my time with the Department from mid 90's till I retired a few years ago. The only law I ever knew of or applied to any stops was the "no more than 3 lamps illuminated at one time" oh also, unless they finally got rid of it, you're required to have windshield wipers but not required to have a windshield %)
