I searched on here and wasn't able to find anything relevant regarding this specific complaint. Recently experiencing multiple issues with my infotainment system when using Android Auto and Bluetooth. My question is anyone else experiencing some of these issues, am I doing something wrong, should I visit the dealer?
    • Bluetooth - when a phone call ends, the gauge cluster screen (green & red phones) and console screen freeze and display that the call hasn't ended yet and the timer continues. I have to push and hold for about 20 seconds for in to clear off and state "call has ended". The phone button on the steering wheel does nothing.
    • Android Auto - when I make a call, it displays it ringing, but I can't hear anything and the other person picks up and I can't hear them unless I disconnect my phone and switch away from bluetooth.
    • Overall infotainment feels very slow and has constant delays when pushing buttons on the screen.
Thanks in advance for anyone who might have some insight. I have a 2021 SR5 Sport with 11k miles.

I would try a different android or an iPhone first to rule out a phone issue. This way the dealer can’t say it’s a phone issue. If that fixes it then good. If not then dealer time. Me personally, I haven’t had any issues using my iPhone with BT or when hooked up to Apple Car Play via the usb cable. I also use an iPhone cable by the way. Sometimes aftermarket cables are problematic.

I know in 2020 the head unit changed so I can only speak to the 2019 Bluetooth (no android auto or car play). Mine worked fine with a galaxy s10 on Bluetooth until I switched to the s21 ultra last year. Non stop connection issues, calls would sort of "cut out" after 4 minutes every call, I couldn't hear them/they couldn't hear me. Head unit would become unresponsive during a call and no way to end a call so I would have to pick up and unlock my phone and even sometimes that didn't work and i would have to reboot my phone. I got another s21 from Verizon thinking it was a phone issue because it worked fine with my s10 then went through multiple resets and even set it up as a brand new phone without moving any data over from a backup, nope still same issue. THEN my other half got a new iPhone and her phone wouldn't work right with it anymore either. I talked to the dealership here a few times and they told me they didn't have any known issues with newer phones. I waited for another head unit software update to come out and tried updating but nothing helped. Called James at tech 12 volts and ended up with a new head unit, maestro rr, amp, door speakers, tweeters, subs.

No problem with '19 + very old Android. I some times have to spend > 1 hr on the call, never been any issue.

Honestly, no because anything quality is hella expensive right now. I was gonna go with Alpine and stay away from anything 9" or bigger due to exponential price increase.

I've pulled the trigger on a Tesla style Phoenix radio though. Came across a deal I couldn't pass up.
