Recently I installed a remote start on my 16 and cant be more happier with it. Ever since the install though I have a problem where the head unit goes dark to the point where you cannot see anything on it as soon as I turn my headlights on. I spoke with the remote start guy and we went through and completely removed the remote start from the car and it still does it. So somewhere something happened and I need help in isolating it. I do not see any bare wires or anything obvious that could have happened while I did the install. If anyone here has any suggestions or extensive knowledge with the factory head unit please PM me or point me in the right direction. Here is a video https://youtu.be/Ks2d1aN16m8

Have you messed with the brightness settings under the Display section on the head unit?

I have adjusted everything I could and it’s bright but goes almost black when the lights turn on

Level sequoia wheels I like factory mods don't care to much for aftermarket
Make sure your software is updated you should be able to check the last time it was done in the settings should have been done at least once

Updated software and no change so i just removed the headlight trigger wire. Looks like its an internal component that failed.

You could check to see if you somehow tied into the illumination wire for the headunit.
