I need to stop being lazy but I think I last updated my Endtune (sp on purpose) about 8 months ago. It was a decent sized USB flash and I think that was going to be the latest and last but IDK. I supposed with the 2022s out Toyota is probably done spending any time or resources on updating the old gen.

I thought they made an in announcement in app that they were deprecating the app at some point. You can still pull the latest updates from the Toyota site.

Yeah, it’s called the Kenwood excelon DMX 957XR. Those stock head units are a freaking joke.

Just as you downloaded the last update, go to toyota.com and you can check the latest version. Jot down the file name and then check your HU and see if the version installed is the same or older.

Howdy! I bought a 2015 Tundra 1794 2 years ago & have made the plunge into experimenting with cellphone ownership a week ago. I was looking forward to a lot of advanced features of Entune, like Radar map and weather........but when I tried to register on Toyota.com/entune/ it doesn't seem to exist. There must be a way to get the app.......notice that there's an Entune 2 or 3, but only for 2019/2020/2021/2022 Toyotas.

    Color me puzzled.

My 2014 Headunit has had Bluetooth/phone issues since new. Reboots constantly when the phone is connected either by cable or blue tooth. Have had every “flash” since new and it works for a while but then reverts. Just had the latest “flash” and it didnt change anything. I went to Toyota parts to see what a new one cost and it was listed at $4,600…unbelievable.

I’m done with it. Having a new Kenwood DMX7709S headunit installed on the 29th. It’s not fancy but will fit flush in the dash with a fit kit, integrate with the wheel, XM, camera and do Apple Car Play.

Thanks for info here - I will check if entune is at current.

I had put an Atoto android head unit in f250 only few months before it died. Also installed their integrated dashcam and cool backup cam that does virtual surround view.

Thought about putting in new2us 1794 but wifie against me tearing into dash. She's probably correct, and the stock does have integration to truck I suppose.

I tried to update mine with the latest update and it recognizes a newer version and it goes to install it and then says no new software found and stops. I’m just gonna buy a new head unit with CarPlay and be done with it.

    well that seems useless

Found site https://www.toyota.com/firmware-updates/download. Followed instructions to get model ID - easy. Same screen shows audio version 1035. Entered VIN to website and selected ID. Shows latest audio at 1162. Sounds great, go for it. Downloaded file 17TDT2NA-DA30_0066.kwi. But installation instructions on site say:
Well that seems odd - tried it anyway. Doesn't recognize any file on USB.

So far I have nothing for the "what have you done to your truck today" thread :(

Does anyone know anything better, any suggestions?

ETA - it worked with a smaller usb drive. Instructions said min 2Gb, I used a 32. File size 415 Mb. Dug a 1Gb out of junk drawer. Worked. But after all that not sure any noticeable difference. Ah well.

I did the ‘permanent software update’ by placing my Entune unit in a box and stashing it in my attic.

I feel like it’s getting all the product support it can take up there.

    EB,

it’s in and looks good. It isn’t an iPad on the dash but it suits me fine. I haven’t driven it or done anything with it since install. I will take some pics tomorrow during a pheasant hunt and share.
