2015 Tundra 4.6L 169k miles. P2714 and P0761 codes popped up a few weeks ago.

Sat at a transmission shop for 2 weeks before they recommended rebuilding ($6500) the transmission. Pretty sure they didn't do a thing besides look up the codes and the mileage and make a recommendation based on that.

Has anyone got these codes before and solved it by replacing solenoids etc? The debate between finding a used transmission vs finding a good deal on a 2021 5.7L is starting to heat up.

I’d get a second opinion for 6,500. What’s your trans doing?

In general those codes don’t indicate what they seem to indicate, aka that there’s something wrong with the solenoids. What it usually means is that one or more of your clutch packs are slipping and or torque converter resulting in those error codes (from the ecu not liking the input/output shaft speed and other symptoms). Overall it likely means you would need to rebuild the transmission via replacement of whatever clutch packs are having an issue. Few places want to touch these transmissions, even toyota just replaces them in the dealership and won’t open it. Very few companies will actually rebuild them. I would recommend either finding a junkyard transmission or sending to IPT for a rebuild or selling for a 5.7 as long as you don’t lose your shirt with the error codes.
