I ordered this locally. Could not figure out how to install. Called sparks. They said they do not have an updated manual bed step part currently. I am not mechanically savvy but i usually can figure out simple installs. Can't figure this out so i returned it. Anyone have any additional insight ?

You bought a bedstep for the previous model tundra and are confused why it isn't fitting your new '22???
When I search that part number it says for Tundra '14-'21. I'm sure you can find a way to attach the step portion but it makes complete sense that it doesn't install easily. You are probably going to have to make some custom brackets and modify the step as well. Doesn't look like they have the bed step released for the '22 yet.

No. The confusion occurred when i went to the Toyota parts department at my local dealership asking to purchase a manual bed step for a 2022 tundra and being told that the 2021 step will fit. I figured they knew what they were talking about and I just couldn't figure out how to install it

I gotcha. Unfortunately you can't trust the people at the dealership who are behind the counter. Most don't know anything about vehicles (there are a few that do but that is rare and the difference is easy to spot). Since you bought it thru them, I'd go back and ask for a refund or for them to provide the instructions to install it on your '22 since they sold it to you.

They gave me a refund no questions asked. Then said "yeah we had quite a few of these returned". I then explained why.
