So I order this Cat Guard online (not from anyone on this site) and UPS delivers it with the box torn up and some hardware missing. UPS say's the shipper has to file a claim but the problem is the shipper doesn't answer e-mail or have a working phone. I'm not going to pay to send it back so Amazon gave me my money back. Apparently they don't talk to Amazon either. Now I have the plate that no one wants but I need the special nut(s) to install it. It is 3" long and the nut is for an approximately 3/8" bolt, actually metric. All stainless steel. Does anyone have a source for these? I might as well use it. It's a shame to take it to the scrap yard...Nut.jpg

So it is the bolts that you are looking for? Take it to Lowes and try a few. I'm sure they will have one that fits that thread.

If you need another one of the items that is pictured….try a local welding shop or machine shop. That is a simple item to fabricate. If it is about 3/8” but metric, it should be 10mm.

That’s called a weld nut. If you have the equipment, you can make those threaded plates yourself. If not, any shop that can weld can do it for probably little.

To be explicitly clear, the image shows a weld nut welded to a piece of cut plate steel, where a hole has been drilled into the plate.

I did have a friend make the nuts but I'm not going to install this. Went with a different plan. If someone wants it let me know.

Come and get it! Thats right, I went with a different plan and the place I got it gave me my money back and won't pay to ship it back. I have hardware for it but not the original. It's just taking up space in the garage. South Polk County Florida.
