2018 Tundra Double Cab 8' bed
Hello Folks, I live in Austin Tx. and I bought my white, 2018, double cab, 8' bed, 4X4 back in May. When I was looking for a truck I just wasn't seeing anything I liked until as I walked the line of Tndras in Round Rock I came to this one. As I walk towards the tailend I noticed the priced was lowered, then (wait) 8' bed, bed cover, nurf rails, bed liner, it can seat 6, bingo. I've fallen in love with this truck. I can't believe how smooth this thing rides, and how well it handles. The power is something I've never seem before where getting up to 90 on the toll roads in no problem at all. I've spent these past few months turning this truck into a camping vehicle. I don't plan to take it off roading but, you never know what you'll get into. The first thing was putting in a 4'X8' sliding drawer to make it easier for loading and unloading. I added a reciever hitch to the front for a winch on either end. I've built a pressurized water system with two 6 gal. plastic jerry cans. I put Yakima cross bars over the bed cover and mounted a Bigfoot hard shell tent on it and a ladder rack set on the ends to be used for a canopy over the tent. I've also built other cross rails for other bits of camp equipment such as tables and chairs. I put another set of cross bars over the cab with a small basket for additional gear or remove that for the kayaks. The picures are from yesterdays car show in Elgin, Tx. My Halloween display. The trike is a 1948 Harley Servi-Car. IMG_0134.jpg IMG_0136.jpg IMG_0140.jpg IMG_0147.jpg IMG_0148.jpg

I'm heavy into military stuff so I've been real busy this past month with a number of WW1 & Veterans Day events so, I've not gotten back to the few questions here. First, the reason the truck looks over weighted is, it's parked pointing uphill on a slop or a bit of a hump along the curb. Before I took off from home I made sure the truck and trailer were level. When we where looking at it while at the event we also thought it was too low but, once back on level ground it was fine. Truth is I've not been able to sleep in the BigFoot Tent due to the bad weather (too Hot, or too wet) we've had for the past few months. I've slept on a backset fillin air mattress a few times and it was very good. I do believe the tent will be much better than sleeping on the ground however. Maybe next week the weather will break and I'll have some time to go camping. Thanks
