In March, we had baseball-sized hail, and my 22 Limited Tundra was damaged to the tune of $12,000. I just got the truck back and wondered how this will impact its trade-in value.

I imagine this will end up on CarFax, so I'm not trying to hide the damage. The truck looks great, has a new hood, and has the roof repainted. It took the shop forever to get the BSM system to work, and they had to order two new sensors.

I will probably not trade right now, but I am curious about what this will do with the value and if anyone else has recent trade experience with damage.

My wife’s Accord was nearly totaled by hail years ago but repaired. The surface of the car looked like dimples in a golf ball. It definitely affected our trade value, but not nearly as much as the same $$$ amount of damage a wreck would have.
