So my wife has made it clear that she wants me to get a Tundra ASAP, poor me, right?

I’ve always been good at haggling, but know that it doesn’t come into play much with specialty cars like the TRD Pros. Anyone have any tips for haggling on a TRD Pro? Can I pit dealerships against each other? Can I negotiate deals on add ons like a Predator Tubes, Spray in bedliner, warranty? Or are the TRD Pro’s pretty much just take what they offer so go to the biggest dealership?

The best I heard guys getting a Pro at is 1K to 2K below MSRP. I bought mine at MSRP. When I asked if there any wiggle room they said no. At that time it was harder to get one then it is now. Shop around sure some dealership will go a little lower then MSRP. You can always buy a limited and turn it into a Pro. Unless you have to have the bed stamp.

Where are you located? I traveled to get mine and was able to get it for $5k under sticker. Dealers in Denver wouldn't negotiate at the time and I will never pay MSRP under any circumstance. So i flew to Des Moines for $80 bucks and drove it home on $250 in gas. That was 2015, so I don't know if they've changed, but if they say the truck will sell for MSRP, in my experience it will sell for MSRP. You might have some luck getting more on your trade or 0% if you're financing.

The worst time to negotiate for a Pro is when the new model has just rolled out. There were killer prices last summer on Pros at both lots in my town. The new color is out too, expect to get bent over. You could get a limited and save some dough but the Pros look cool right off the lot. Cheehab is right, unless the beds stamp is critical, you're paying 7k+ for a set of shocks and an sr5 interior

I mean the Pros are sweet and I love mine. No regrets, period. I could've bought a limited or Plat or 1794 but I wanted a truck i didn't have to heavily mod. But I like calling car dealers and i like giving people shit, so for me it was way worth it to call around and find a deal when I bought my Pro. The deals are out there for sure, but if you think you're going to convince a dealer that says he wont deal on a Pro that he should, I'd check elsewhere.

The dealer closest to me has had two of those bright ass blue Tundras on the lot for two months so I'm not really sure how limited the production numbers are on these things anyway.

Negative. Stiched Seats, bigger Entune Radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Shark Fin Antenna, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, BBS Rims, and yes, Army Green color if you're into it. Now you can get a sun roof and BSM. Try that on an SR5.

There are deals on 2019’s. $3k off MSRP is very doable here in the Midwest. I just picked up a 2019 for $5k off. Found a dealer with 2 white 2019’s and walked in the last day of the month. I made a couple calls on 2020’s and they weren’t budging off MSRP. I do like some of the new features but they weren’t worth the $6-7k price difference.

Every dealer in my area sells them for MSRP or above. As long as the demand is high for them ... good luck finding a dealer that will negotiate. Not saying it can’t be done but won’t happen in my area.

Hope you find one ... and by the way you need to take your wife out for dinner since she “demanded “ you get a Tundra!! :)

If you don't need the fancy suspension you can save several thousand with easy negotiating by going with another trim.

The absolute strongest tool you have for negotiating is being able to walk away.

Unless you are dead set on the Pro, you can get similar or better performance by picking up a lower trim and using the $$$ saved to mod as you like. IMO if you have any intention of doing more of a lift or upgrading the suspension, you are kind of throwing money away for a few cosmetic details. Take a look at an SR5 and build it with the options you want, go big with them, and you will still come in below a Pro. Then take the money saved and get the suspension done up exactly how you want it.

Are you taking a vehicle to trade in? My dealership gave me way too much for my trade to make up for the MSRP price on the PRO.

Exactly, everyone keeps telling me I can get the same thing by building from another model - but I love the stitched leather seats and some of the other cosmetic features. Where did you see that you can get BSM? That's been the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger sooner.

I do, a 2012 FJ Cruiser, and they want it bad.

Get the money on the trade then.

I knew what my truck was worth and I wanted $2k off MSRP. That was the deal for me. Dealership told me they only sell the truck at MSRP, which I think is prob true. Especially in my region where there is stupid amounts of Tech money flying around. But it was raining and they were not making their sales goals, so the dealership bumped my trade up to essentially cover the $2k I wanted to see off the MSRP.

I could have walked and been happy, but it was a fair deal given the market for PROs. Plus, my trade is still sitting on the dealer lot (almost 4 weeks later) and is priced on the high side.
