I had to get the hose out to wash the salt off a trailer. So I scrubbed the floor mats from both of my vehicles at the same time. Later, after everything dried, I put them back in the vehicles and went to leave in the Tundra. It would not shift out of park. The button on the shifter would not push in. I figured that in my haste, I had installed the floor mat so that it was interfering with the brake pedal activating the switch.(In Hindsight the truck probably would not have started if that were the case). The floor mat was actually on top of the gas pedal causing the problem.

This sounds like a thread to add my new thing lol. Yesterday I was coming back from the vet. I put the pet carrier in back seat and apparently did close door all the way. The door alarm went off on the dash but I ignored it because I only had to drive less than a mile. My engine was roaring from high rpm’s all the way home lol. I guess that is a safety feature
