I currently have the taco tunes plug and play harness and amp. If I were to switch over to this amp, could I use the taco tunes plug and play harness and amp rack to connect this amp? Just trying to see what I would need to switch to this amplifier.

 

You could but I wouldnt . A car audio amp should never be mounted to metal. The harness not sure. never used one of theirs but we use a loc with this amp and I think they use high level inputs

 

James - Whats the reasoning behind not using metal amp rack for mounting?

 

Do not bolt your amplifier directly to your car's metal chassis — that's inviting noise problems, like ground loops which hum or buzz. You could use rubber grommets around the mounting screws to isolate the case.


Which is exactly what mounting it to a metal amp rack is doing .

 

I actually have that other guys mounting rack with my kenwood amp and Audiocontrol LOC mounted to it.
Looks like Im going to lowes this weekend to get some rubber grommets.

so i have this amp on shop bench right now . its playing some old components and jl 10w6v3 through bluetooth on my phone . no head unit at all and this thing is cool as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will get a video of it in a little bit. My power supply is small but this thing does killer !! I am extremely impressed with it as a straight bluetooth amplifier . With the sony app you can turn it up and down

 

Bumping this up in the case some of you are on the fence about audio upgrade....killer deal, from hands down the BEST vendor!

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of mine, along with the JL dual 10s and custom ported box from James

If anyone has purchased this amp... this pic may help (Non-JBL w/ LOC) this is the LOC -> RCA -> Sony AMP Line In Harness connection

 

Just posting to post I guess, but was bored and figured I could maybe help the next guy...for a NON-JBL keeping your stock HU, here is a quick "easy" reference for your wiring. See pic I posted above on how the LOC will be wired. I must say this AMP is awesome and I am loving it so far!

 

Can this amp replace the stock amp under the passenger seat?

 

That's exactly what it does....any amp can replace the factory amp as long as you have the correct harness to convert your factory signal from stock HU to RCA outputs...also differences in if you are JBL or NON-JBL...are you keeping stock HU or going with aftermarket (kenwwod, alpine, pioneer, etc...)

 

keeping stock at the moment but eventually I am going to replace it. NON-JBL
