I don’t have pictures so I’ll try the best I can with words!

When you pull the white clip out the sensor should come loose. Just have to grab the edge facing you and pull. It’s not held in by anything but pressure.

The sensor is now loose in the hole, but still plugged in.

You won’t be able to remove the sensor from the hole until you also unclip the sensor itself from the wiring harness it’s plugged in to.

The sensor is the male end, and the wiring harness is the female end.

On one side of the wiring harness there is a small tab holding the sensor into the harness.

The best way I found to do this with just two hands is to turn the sensor until that side with the retaining clip faces you, then use a very small flat had screwdriver to get in underneath that retaining tab from outside the bumper.

I really couldn’t fit my hands in behind the bumper so if you pull the sensor out just a little you can get a screwdriver in through the sensor hole to the small clip.

This is where it gets tricky with words....

Unless you have a VERY small screwdriver, you won’t be able to get to the clip by keeping the screwdriver inline with the sensor. You’ll have to wedge it in under the retaining clip at more of a perpendicular angle first, and then lever it to lift the little tab up.

While doing this use your hand not holding the screwdriver to gently pull on the sensor. This will make sure that as soon as you lift the clip enough to release it the sensor will pop out.

For reinstall, like I mentioned before, there is only a rataining tab on one side of the sensor wiring harness, so it can only go back in one way.

Finally, you can wiggle your hand in there and simply push that white clip back in, wedging it between the harness and the bumper to pull the front of the sensor back in to the bumper.

    Does all that make sense??

Thanks! That does make sense. I think I'm going to try and install again this coming weekend.

My cement rears will be here tomorrow. This has me on edge. Fingers crossed for no defects or blemishes!

Next go around thinking about doing tpo fronts for an all black front bumper look. My rear caps are painted black now but I feel like it conflicts with my tailgate wrap so that’s why I went cement rears :D

CCLJO3 just saved you 30 minutes trying to figure out how to separate the sensor. I finally resorted to using one of these....took me 20 minutes to find it in my workshop. The second one on the passenger side took 45 seconds.

Well, I finally got around to checking out the paint on my MGM covers last night.

3 of the 4 look pretty damn good. Just a minor nib here and there, nothing to be overly concerned about. However, the 4th cap has 3 or 4 areas where it appears they sanded out some nibs (can see visible 'dull' spots in the clear & light scuffing). On the positive side, it hit them by hand with some polishing compound and it reduced the effect, so I think somebody with a polisher who knows what they're doing can buff it out and make it good as new.

For feedback, packaging seemed to be solid, but I can't help but feel the paper they were wrapped in was entirely too rough to be wrapping prettily painted things in. I'd rather see a double layer of bubble wrap personally. And just as a double check, if they do any sanding to remove nibs, make sure they polish it back up.

    Just my .02 :)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll pass that on to the guys. The paper is meant to create a barrier between the bubble wrap and the paint so that it doesn't seal and leave a reflection of the bubbles which would then need to be sanded out. Haven't seen that happen even from our previous paint runs, but since its summer, we wanted to be sure. Now that you mention it, I think something like a full sheet of tissue paper might be a better solution! As for the cloudy area, yeah, looks like we missed that spot with the finishing polish. Sorry about that!

Happy to help where I can, I'm still quite satisfied with my purchase. And I think tissue paper would be a perfect solution, as I never even thought about the possibility of leaving an imprint from the bubble wrap.

Admittedly, I did install the rears last night, and they look damn good. Although I am a victim of the "un-centered bumper syndrome"

Got mine on Monday. Unfortunately I've been working some OT so no time to put them on yet (hopefully this weekend).

I got my MGM bulge, color matched surround and honeycomb grill through my local Toyota dealer, picked them up there and saved a ton on shipping. Pricey, yes but a deal breaker if I had to have them shipped to my house from another state. Just sayin, worth a try if your dealer is closer to you than Sparks. I actually got the door handles and mirror caps color matched from Sparks since my dealer couldn't come through on those.

We're getting them painted tomorrow morning. We had to spend 4 full days buffing and polishing the Attitude Black ones just because black is so finicky, so that pushed everything back. Super White should start shipping Friday.

To all my Silver Sky and Quicksand guys, We're going to try and do a double paint run on Friday so that we can start shipping everything that's left on Monday. I know I keep saying this, but a huge thanks to everyone for your patience from start to finish. I think it's obvious that we got a little overwhelmed, but we're making sure this doesn't mean that our quality slips. Unfortunately, this means that we've been taking a lot more time than originally expected, and you guys have been awesome.

Thanks for all you’ve done! You’ve kept us apprised, and it looks like you’ve responded pretty quickly to issues. I posted in another thread, but below are close-ups of the mounting points.

I do have a question on behalf of all my fellow tundras.com members that missed out on the initial group buy. Can you give them a timeframe on when you’ll be opening purchases up again, and also, if it will be another discounted group buy for tundras.com members? Thanks!

Finally got mine on! Such a big difference thankfully! One word of caution and maybe it’s just because the paint hasn’t had a lot of time to cure, but it’s very easy to start peeling. Only happened around the lip that goes under the bed step. Kinda disappointing but at least it’s not noticeable. Just my .02.

    Now for a vote:

Keep front caps cement (painted them myself) -
    -
Or order TPO caps for an all black front bumper look? Can’t decide now :(
