Sometimes smonthing is rght in front of you and you don't see it. But in my defense I did look for it when I was under the truck and couldn't see anything. Maybe the camera exposed it. What is it a ground for and where can I get one to replace this one?

If 10” of ground strap will reach, then yes.

That ground is a popular one that needs replacement due to damage. It can make your transfer case actuator act funny, it was a recommended to me to look for a damaged one when my actuator was not working.

I do have a problem with my actuator that may be attributed to a bad ground. Sometimes when I turn off the 4wd nut the light stays on so I have to shut off my truck and restart it for it to go out.

More of an excited request, wasn’t yelling at you:rofl::rofl:

many come with issues, and after discussing possible solutions, never report back to the hive mind for confirmation of problem resolution. Help the next guy out!

That's okay I do understand but I might be the exception. I'm a firm believer if we all share we all get better.

Corroded bolt breaking. If it does, you can drill it out and replace with similar sized self tapper.

I should probably replace mine too. It's been gone for who knows how long (and I've known it needs to be replaced).

The M6 stud that welded to the body is the tricky one. Scrub the rust from the exposed section of stud and the hose it down with penetrating oil. Worst case is that it breaks off, then another location with a longer strap can be utilized.

I repaced my ground strap today and as of now I have no problem switching in and out of 4wd with the acturator staying on as previously mentioned. I' don't know if anything else this may have affected but hopefully it is resolved.

This will be added to the “my 4x4 actuator isn’t working right” algorithm.
