    Hi,
Has anybody successfully used any sort of aftermarket grip tape or rubberized product to add
a non-slip factor to their running boards? Looking to give my mother a little extra help getting into the truck....

I used aquarium sand from PetSmart and spray cans of bedliner. The sand was sprinkled on top of the bedliner while it was still wet. It's held up fairly well...

Looks nice, curious how difficult those are to clean?

A hose takes care of most of it. I think you could use a soft brush on it to get the tough stuff off. I've had it on for 1.5 years, and haven't needed to scrub or touch up the sand/bedliner.

Could you run short hex head self drilling self tapping screws in and form a pattern while doing so to look nice and provide durable large bumps that will be sure to create tread?

Thx. Since my boards have ridges, I was worried that tape would start to tear and/or peel, so I went with the black aquarium sand/bedliner. It's worked well so far.

Maybe you could just buy or build a step platform and keep it in the truck or even always have one near the parking spot at home and one more in the truck. Mix sand in paint and apply to wood for non slip.
