Grille Interchangeable?

There's tons of other alternatives that can be retrofit to work.

 

But that's not THE switch, it's too square, expect it'll fit in one of the other square holes? I'm interested...

 

appears to be the standard 22x22 switch that fit the other holes, papadave418 has installed similar ones in his truck

 

I ordered my TRD Pro grille from a Toyota dealership several states away from me. They actually told me they just switched to local pick up only. Thankfully they said they will still ship to me. They claimed the reason for this was because they had received a few of these grilles in already and the box was really damaged and some of the grilles were damaged. Therefore, they were going to allow customers to come in and look them over and decide if they still wanted to keep them or send them back and wait longer for ones that were not damaged. Now I am a little anxious. I ordered mine last week and they told me yesterday they are supposed to receive mine the first week of July then will ship it to me. Fingers crossed.

 

I’m feeling really dumb right now. I guess I should have asked: Is the TRD PRO grill not compatible with the SR5?

I’m either doing something really wrong or just an idiot to not confirm, but the TRD PRO grill isn’t even the same size as the SR5 grill and doesn’t have the same clip points along the sides and bottom.



Edit: the entire overall height of the grill isn’t even close lol. This is with them both lined up at the top.

 

Definitely compatible with the SR5. You didn't mention what package (Base or TRD OR/Sport) you have but it's compatible with both SR5 grills. Check out the vids below:

Ok Toyota had to have a revision or something.
The number of slats/slots on this grill aren’t even the same as any pictures or videoes I’ve seen.

 

Whoa. I don't know how...but it looks like you got the grill for the 2023 Sequoia TRD Pro instead of the 2022 Tundra TRD Pro:

That's exactly what it is. That's the same number of slots and all as mine.

This grill I received is definitely not the right one. lol

It's not the same size. (A good 2" too short in height) and none of the side or bottom clip points are even there like on the Tundra grill.

 

Dude...you might have stumbled into a bit of a windfall. If it were me, I might keep it & sell that on the gray market like eBay or something. There might be some Sequoia owners who want to change the grill. lol.

 

Well...yeah...but right now I just spent the last 2 hours ripping the front of my truck off with no grill. (Except my OEM SR5 that I'm not really wanting to put back in. lol)

TBH I'd rather return it and, well, get the correct one lol.

If someone wants to give me $500 for it to cover the ridiculous Yota Garage grill, I'm down. I'll ship to you for that price.

Don't want to have to put it all back together just to tear it down again later. Rather just swallow my pride and overpay for the yota grille so I can just be done with this ordeal.

Obviously $500 is more than I paid, but by the time I pay to ship it and the overall hassle of selling it, it just isn't worth it for less.

Not to mention I'm pretty sure absolutely no one in the country will probably have their hands on one for months to come.

 

Btw guys, if I had known in a little finer detail than any of the videos show what I was doing, I would have masked this off prior to working.

I was as gentle as could be during all this and these are down to bare plastic. It doesn’t take much AT ALL to scratch this plastic.

 

What is the part number for the TRD grill?

 

With so many people doing grill swaps, I'm wondering if anyone has gone from the TRD OR grill to the TRD Pro grill and was not able to use the camera bracket for the OR grill? I'm doing a Limited grill to the TRD OR and was just thinking that if we have some folks that have done the OR to PRO swap, perhaps there is a spare bracket around here? Anyone?

 

Decided to just send the grill back and let Roman get the right one coming.
I feel bad because the shipping is atrocious, but hopefully he can make it up when he’s the first person in the country with one of these grills for sale. Lol

No. Even Yota Garage with their ridiculous prices do not actually stock them. They order them from a dealer and ship to you after they receive it.

From what I see though, they're only running like 2-3 weeks behind. Some people are even getting them within a week.

 

You can find them in plenty of places for under $200.
Shipping is usually another $90 or so.
You could always try your local dealer to save on the shipping.
