    Hello peeps!!
Just bought : 2020 SR-5 CrewMax TRD OFFROAD ... Quicksand

"must" delete all the chrome.. bought new bumper ends (on the way) ..
Have installed overlays everywhere else.. now all that is left is the Grill and Hood Bulge

    1) If I buy a Grill that does not replace the "radar" what do I loose? the safety collision alert and or the adaptive cruise? ( could care less about the cruise, but like the collision alert)

    2) advice on grill and bulge options?

-I've explored the vinyl wraps.. ( NOT a good idea for here in the PacNW)
-PLasti -dip is cool... but just never lasts more than 2 years.. so I'm opting out..

I just need the chrome gone.. can go with TRD PRO or PLatinum whatev' can be color matched or satin black.. ( just no black ,matellic sparkels)

thanks in advance for the insight!!!!

You could keep the existing grill insert and just change out the chrome surround - but it's hard to find those as they are sold as one piece. Sometimes you can find the surrounds being sold on the forums / craiglist but usually it's the chrome surround that is being sold. You can buy an entire grill & surround combo piece from Toyota of Cool Springs or Sparks Parts (both are forum vendors).
You'll also want a new hood bulge to replace that chrome piece as well.

You can see the info here on the different pieces:

I really like the look of the new 2019+ TRD Pro grill. And it works with your radar. Otherwise, any of the 2018+ grills will work with the radar as well.
    Here's a pic of mine:

I bought mine from Sparks Parts: https://www.sparksparts.com/accesso...tundra-trd-pro-grille-53101-0c070?parent=1325

The downside to the 2019+ TRD Pro grill is that it's pricey because you need to buy the sensor cover which is really expensive. Some people have bought the knockoff covers from eBay for cheaper, but some people have had problems with them interfering with the radar sensor. I chose to buy the OEM cover so I wouldn't risk having any issues and mine works flawlessly.

You can also buy any 2014+ grill and surround, and then relocate and attach the radar sensor to the radiator support bracket. I had problems with mine when I did that, and that's another reason why I switched to the 2019+ TRD Pro grill.

I found an Attitude Black donor grille off Craigslist for $40. I needed to lose the chrome surround. The surround clips weren't broken so got lucky there. This may not help the OP but an option. Painted the chrome hood bulge which will be replaced soon.
