Cool, I just purchased the Cerakote trim coat earlier this week, will arrive Friday so if weather permits I will try it out the first time this weekend. Does anyone know if there is a cure time or time limit before it can get wet once applied?

Nevermind, vid says the instructions are one hour cure time.

That cure time is very important. I used it on my nerf bars. I had some drops fall off of my mirror and leave white spots that won’t come off.
Don’t let it get wet, and don’t feed it after midnight.

Lets see how it looks. I'm a little worried its going to be too dark/glossy.

It’s not really glossy. Just perfect in my opinion. This is before and after using it on my nerf bars. Pics were taken immediately after application. The gloss lessened after curing, leaving a nice black finish. I don’t have pics, but it wasn’t overly glossy on trim.

That was on July 1st. This pic is from August 29, so nearly two months later. Not zoomed in on the nerf bar, but you can see it’s still looking great.

Here’s what happens if it gets wet before it cures. This will not come off. Manufacturer said I’d likely have to sand it to fix it. The spots aren’t as prominent, but they are still there.

    Thanks Jason.
The only trim that is starting to show some signs of fading is the trim around the wiper blades. Probably because its a pain to get in there, so it just gets some soapy water over it. The rest of the trim gets a good coating of 303 and tyre feeder so its holding up nicely.
Have you applied it only to the bars? I was thinking about the plastic on top of the bumper.

I used it on the plastic caps on the top of the bed of my daughter’s Tundra. No pics, but it came out great and is holding up well.
I also rarely hit the spot by the wiper blades myself. I plan to use it there also.

Since it worked so well on the nerf bars, I plan to do the wheels on my daughter’s Tundra at some point. They’re pretty faded / oxidated, so I usually just spray some Cover-All on them. I’m really interested to see if it works for that purpose.

How much can you do with one of the wipes in the Cerakote kit?

It took three wipes total for both nerf bars, so a good bit.

And those nerf bars were not slippery at all?

Impressive, so do you think this would be OK to use on my Retrax? Looks like it's an automatic for all other external trim, no

I’m impressed with how it did on the metal portion of the nerf bars.

I believe so. It worked so well on the nerf bars, that I intend to use it on my Bakflip, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

It took four wipes to do my steps on the fj. It looks like it would be slick but it is not at all. This is the best trim product I’ve used. ***You have to take your time and prep the surfaces well. Also tape off any areas you don’t want this applied to. Make sure you allow it to fully cure and stay completely dry before and after application. I use an air compressor to blow off all hidden water in door jams and such.
