I am looking to get away from my block and spacer lift. Want to go up about three inches but I am open to bigger just nothing more than 6 inches. I do zero off-roading and my truck sees mainly highway miles as I drive 60 miles each way to work daily.
I think I have my choices narrowed down to the toytec aluma kit or a bds/fox kit. But again am open to other options based on you guys feedback.

down the line I would like to go to 37s and a regear so the suspension I get would have to accommodate that in the future.

looking to get something in about 2 weeks so it’s research time

    feedback?

Iv got the Toytec radflo and love it. All the off roading capabilities but also awesome on the highways. Can’t go wrong w Toytec! They have the new aluma series which I’ve heard only good things about too

I just got rid of my spacer and block kit last week. What a difference! I went with the Toytec Alumas, rear Boss with remote resis, Toytec shackles and 1/2 axle shim, and SPC UCA's.

Got the 1.5 shackles in the back w the resis and spc uca’s up front too. Amazing! Was out chasing cows and didn’t realize the angle I was set at. Stuffed almost entirely. Super impressed w the ride quality on and off road

If you don’t go off roading I would go with a 6” lift. It’s just so fun being above everything and everyone. Then again that may be because I’m 5’2” so I’m not used to looked down at people LOL. I’ve had my truck for 5 years and recently lifted and I have no idea why I didn’t do it sooner it’s so fun I love it!!!!

You’re 2wd or 4wd? If 2wd look hard at cst spindles. 3.5 quality inches

currently 2wd but am planning on trading up to a pro after my wife gets her 4 runner and I would like to swap over all my aftermarket parts at that time

I don’t plan to swap out the suspension but I figured coil over kit would sell faster than spindles

Thanks for all the replies so far!

toytec kits looks great. Advantages to shackles over a leaf spring in the rear?

    anyone running the bds kit?

U could probably get away with the pro comp stage 2 kit for under 3k. Its a drop bracket 6-7” lift with adjustable front coilovers. That complete kit is $2900-ish
    F27742FC-F0E6-420E-8EF2-3A5A484CD3BC.jpg

But if you are 2wd, you can do a spindle with an adjustable coilover to get the same height, for cheaper.

Waiting sucks, but why not just leave it until you trade trucks. Yeah the parts can swap, but whats the point

I am at about 60k on the stock shocks and I feel they are starting to fade

although this could just be me wanting something new :monocle:

I have not given them any consideration

It is my understanding that they are a budget off shoot of bds. I figured just go with the parent company

I’m on 295/70/18 rg right now but as much driving as I do they wear in about a year so I’m likely going to step up to 35s next then 37s after. Likely going to stay with the nittos because they are so quiet on highways

Replacing the suspension will make no difference on your trade. IMO you should save your money for the new truck.

I second this one.... if your trading it then you should just wait and make that $3 grand into a bigger pile of cash for more mods on the truck you're going to stick with.

If ur set on later upgrading to a pro, they already have coilovers on them, so u should take that into consideration as well.

Trading it in would likely be a year or two down the line.

Ok. It's your money but again if I know I'm going to be trading a truck in a couple of years, all the money I have is going towards the new truck. Whether for upgrades or a bigger down payment, I am not spending money on the truck I'm trading. If the shocks are worn I would find some stock take offs for a bandaid until the trade or put Bilsteins on it. YMMV

Thanks, appreciate the advice I’m still going to get a suspension though because I drive my truck way too much to not enjoy it.

anyone else have any insight as far as suspension recommendations?
