I figured I may as well start a thread for my truck even though most of my "mods" will be pretty tame. That's how they all start anyways...

Bought her used for a great deal (by Canadian standards) with 61000KM on the Odometer, fairly high for a 2020 but that was part of the reason the price was right.

    2020 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crewmax
    • Heated Seats
    • Rear Sliding Power Window
    • Toyota Tonneau Cover
    • De-Badged
    • 38 Gallon Gas Tank

The day after I slapped on some BFG KO2's I took it up to a nearby radio tower just to grease up the 4x4 system.

A little more back story to why I chose this trim, Crewmax, etc. Basically my wife and I love our dogs and spoil them a bit too much. I liked the idea of having tons of space in the back to fold the seats and we are able to clip their harnesses in to the seatbelts and it works perfectly. Rear climate/HVAC and a sliding rear window as well? The dogs don't seem to have any complaints.

First ride in the new truck:

I originally wanted a 6 foot box so I could make the classic truck camper out of it. My goal in the end is basically a moderately capable "overland" rig as much as I despise that term. Since the dogs (and prospect of children in the near future) bumped us up to the Crewmax a RTT was an easy sell to the wife.

I got extremely lucky and someone just happened to be selling the CBI Overland half rack bar for $500 Canadabucks and for that I am extremely grateful. Princess Auto also had an insane deal on a generic no name roof top tent (bonus: no branding or badges) for $850 Canadabucks which is basically identical to any other branded tents I have seen first hand. I am extremely impressed with the quality of my RTT for an all-in cost of around $1300 CAD.

To keep the stink away of course. I use my truck for real TRUCK STUFF like hunting and hauling stuff (for other people!) now that I'm the "truck friend".

And for no reason, a random pic of my truck that I like! Need to get rid of those awful running boards soon....

    Nice truck!
You're going to enjoy the fact that you won't have to adjust the driver and passenger seat to fit a car seat (or two)

I ordered this stuff pretty much a week after I bought my truck. RCI front and transmission skid plate, cat shield, and rock sliders with top cover. Shipping these to Canada almost cost the same as the parts. :spending:
Winter just hit us hard where I am so I probably won't be installing this until the spring as I'm just a driveway mechanic. But so far I am impressed with the parts I've seen, the rock sliders are BEEFY and I love them already. I probably won't love them as much when I'm installing them though. :benchpress:

One thing I'm slightly concerned about is that I ordered aluminum skid plates however the catalytic converted guard had no "options" so I assumed it came as aluminum like other brands but it's steel.... So I have to mount the heavy steel cat guards on my aluminum transmission skid plate?
