    Hello all,
Ok, I have had Time Warner/ Spectrum internet for years and have the 300 high speed at $90.00 a month!

Google Fiber is in my neighborhood in San Antonio for 1000 top speed no cap for $55 a month special offer!

My daughter streams Netflix all the time and I mostly play BF4 and COD games on PC, we also have DIRECTTV and PS4!

Any one have experience with GF and if I get it can I use my own wireless router!

Any input and is Fiber better then cable all round!

    Thanks

I don't have google Fiber, but I have fiber optic internet. It's blazing fast (by Canada's pathetic standards) and very stable. I don't think you can go wrong. I'd love to have GF.

After 300 mbps do you really “need” faster internet? I can the price being a huge factor in your shoes but what does it go up to in 12 months?

DIRECTV doesn’t actually need internet to work, but the On Demand could speed up a little I suppose...if you even wait now.

I don’t know how reliable the Google Fiber is but the Google Pixel phone sucks horse balls

I would recommend searching around and find a forum that talks about reliability vs trying to go from an already blazing speed of 300 to whatever they claim. Comcast has fiber to my office and we can only get signal 1/2 the time. Just do the research on the reliability in your area is all I’m saying

I had it when I lived in KANSAS City for a little bit. That was when it first launched. It was crazy fast.

Damn! But on the brighter side it's still faster than basic DSL. :)

Comcast does gigabit in my area but its dummy expensive, like $150/mo.

Lots of people want faster internet for the upload speeds. Right now my comcast, i get 75mbps down and a pathetic 5 up.

I'd pay $55 for fiber in a heartbeat.

Yeah, but just like the disappointment of her still being there, you’re equally disappointed when you realize dial up is a “4” at best too

You can always use your own router.

I don't have Google Fiber, but I do have another fiber provider and get 1gb up and down - You absolutely won't regret it. It's nice not having a data cap. =D

Time Warner/Cox/Comcast are terrible. I was a network infrastructure tech for Comcast/Xfinity for a long time.. I hate that company in every imaginable way.

After I worked at Comcast I worked for a wireless broadband company, Digis, climbing to and repairing/upgrading/reconfiguring those access points. In 90% or more of our access points we had a 20-50% higher subscriber load than what was ideal. It's not cheap to lease space on those towers so they pack access points as full as they possibly can and everyone suffers. Those companies prey on areas where a traditional aerial or underground network is not available, so people just deal with getting a fraction of the bandwidth that they should. I couldn't continue working for either Comcast or Digis in good conscience, I always felt like I was ripping people off and I didn't even deal with end users. =\
