(good) - 2024 Tundra has multiple vehicle alerts

Fist stop into 600 mile road trip and we sitting down getting a bite to eat. App chimes in that there are multiple alerts.

Open app, health tab... yikes. Service alert...

My second key Fob is in!! Yeah! 7 months and about a week. I'm happy.

 

Didn't get get two at purchase or lost one?

 

A lot only got 1. I got 2 in 2022 but seem to be a bit of an outlier.

 

Just got 1. 2 keys, 1 Fob. Has been standard with most of them for a while. Looks like most of the threads on it were also deleted.

 

I purchased my 2024 11/11/23 got two keys right of the bat. Maybe a location thing I dunno I'm in the midsouth. Seven months make sure they don't forget about you.

 

Same here in Seattle. Bought the truck in November and had a second key fob within a month.

I'd definitely recommend y'all pestering your dealership. I may just be lucky with having a good one, but any time I've brought up concerns, no matter how minor, they've fixed me up. It's an expensive-ass item afterall. Granted, I'm also not a massive douche towards service peeps and from what I gather reading people's anecdotes on the internet, I'm assuming that's a rarity.

Be nice; get helped. Easy peasy.

 

Bought mine mid may with one FOB. Tried to negotiate getting both at once, even threatened to go to another dealer but they wouldn’t budge.

 

Bought mine exactly 3 months ago, still waiting for the second fob. Called Toyota about a month ago and they said end of June or July possibly.

 

The Toyota bots are monitoring the forum. I just got my 2nd fob notice. Hallelujah!

 

I only got one to start like most. I was chattin with corporate about another issue recently and mentioned where I stood in the process for a second key fob. Few weeks later corporate paid for one out of their pocket. Got it programmed last week.

Fast forward to this morning and my app notifies me my second fob is at my local dealer now. Guess I’ll have 3! Ha

 

I don't get how you can sell trucks with one key that has all the features needed for the technology of the truck?

That is some chincey shit IMO. Don't have two fobs, don't sell it yet. Crank up the fob factory.

 

I don't love only getting one key initially, but I think that is better then people I know with other 1/2 tons who are waiting on chips to get features to work.

Bottom line, it isn't all bad. Toyota did come through with the second key. As fast as anticipated? No. Did it cause me any problems? No. Do I wish I had it right away? Yes. I don't look forward to my time waiting for the new one to be programed.

 

Truck built 11/23, purchased 12/23 and just got the Service Alert via the app today that my 2nd FOB is ready. Funny thing is that I already have my second FOB due to issues with tracking status of my FOB which dealer made right in 02/24!

When I bought my 1794 LE I only got one fob. I was told the chip shortage is still ongoing and will be for a long time.

I was told I’d get my 2nd fob in the mail but no eta on it.

 

Its getting hot here. I parked my truck in garage an let both front windows down about two inches. Closed door and you would of thought the world was coming to an end. Dash was lighting up, phone was sending messages. I closed it and locked it an it all quit.

I got two key fobs when I bought my truck in early May.

 

been 2 months since I bought my Tundra that came with one fob, guess I have more time to wait for the 2nd fob........my dealer is selling the 24 Taco with 2 fobs; I don't get it.

 

I got 2 keys back on 3/22...looks like I'll also be getting my second engine soon too

 

Bought mine in Feb, received only one key fob. I call the dealer at 8am on the first day of every month to pester them. Gotta hand it to em, their message is consistent every time - it's not up to them, it's up to Toyota corporate, I'll get a notification in the app when it's ready, likely July.

Any other Feb 2024 buyers around here?

 

My dealer gave me three keys. Got two when I bought it. At the first service they asked if I got two and I said yes. Go to pick it up and they insisted I only got one and the only way to clear it off the recall list was to give me another key.

Just the single fob for me also. Same as @ChucklesToy. Built 11/23, took possession 12/26/23 and just got the "Service Campaign" notification on the app a few days ago.
Almost 6 months.
I've waited this long, I can wait until the 5K "Service" to get the fob and the transmission recall done.

 

Guess I’ll have to go for a 3rd FOB. I have 3 physical keys…

 

Got mine in January. As of yesterday the dealer has no clue when the second FOB will be in

 

I think that is normal on a couple of levels. Not know when Toyota will compensate them for the key (they have them, but it is when Toyota will pay them). And, "no clue" seems common for dealers in general.

 

Purchased Feb 5th and still waiting for my 2nd FOB..

 

Bought mine August 15, 2024. One keyfob. The dealer told me 2-4 weeks. Sounds like that's not going to happen.

 

Hahahaha no chance. Expect to wait 6+ months.
