IMG_5248.jpg IMG_5247.jpg Go Rhino RB20 slimline texture black finish

I had a hard time deciding on running boards and chose the RB20 slimline. Very pleased with them and install was easy.

Chose the textured black finish rather than the bed liner finish because I saw a picture of the bottom of a bed liner rb20 & the entire running board itself was not covered in the bed liner finish. Textured black finish has plenty of grip and width for daily work boots. They are a little loud while driving in the rain…guess mudflaps are next.

Looks good! I’ve got a set with the bed liner waiting for install soon.

I have them too. I had mine Line X coated including underside and mounting brackets. They should last longer than the truck.

Love that finish, but the price difference wasn’t worth it to me and I now have a truck mod budget with my first baby on the way.

Family priorities always come first. No more babies for me other than grandchildren.

Just to be clear, I bought the regular finished RB20 slims and brought them directly to Line X to have them recoated. This was an extra $350 CDN ($260 US) on top of the cost of the running boards. The factory RB20 coating including the bed liner coating I don't think will last the test of time especially because the underside and brackets are not coated the same way. These parts/areas take the abuse from the bottom so they need better protection.

I installed mine a few weeks ago, only big issue is that they are VERY loud when driving in the rain. I am hoping that mudflaps will lessen the noise as I would really like to keep them on....

    Anyone else notice that?

I put rb30 slims on mine and noticed the same. Not enough to make me want to change but enough that I notice.

My brackets rusted out after one winter. I have the Rekgen mudflaps on as well for better coverage. Should have done what you did...

I have mudflaps on mine and have not noticed that they are any louder in the rain.

I have not noticed that at all yet. I do have the OEM mud flaps and it's possible the Line X has improved the dampening characteristics of the running boards. It's also possible that I've not driven the truck in a more substantial rainfall.

getting line-x is smart. I put the non bed liner ones on last year and by spring they lost a lot of finish. Gorhino sent a replacement set after a long while but of course did not send the brackets.

going to get the new ones line-x and see if I can get the brackets sand blasted then coated as well.

I think they are one of the best looking running boards out there for this truck. However, they definitely lack in their protective finish. Even their bed liner finish is questionable in my mind. If you can afford to have them additionally coated all around including mounting brackets, then do so.

I live in the PNW (the Pacific NorthWET) ...I just returned from Canada from an all day drive....They are pretty loud when you go through standing water, but not to bad when it is just rain...

Finally rained here in NW FL and the Amazon mud flaps I picked up have definitely helped around town and on the highway. Noticeable improvement, but still hear the splash in the puddles like griz said

Do any of you know the torque specs for the brackets to frame & steps to bracket? I misplaced my directions and just remembered I need to get a final torque on everything. Also, what should I do with the rest of the bracket hardware they send you. It’s about 20lbs of leftover brackets/hardware?? lol crazy they send that much. Doesn’t seem like efficient business.

Yeah, I looked for torque specs and didn't find any...just snugged them up and plan on checking them occasionally. And yes, there is a bunch of stuff left over (including the old bolts)
