Given tire size, some brands more likely to rub than others?

    Sorry guys, I gotta :deadhorse:

Too many tire threads in search result, and can't find my answer. 2020 stock height, 18s, the reference thread says largest is '285/65 r18 trimming may be required'...are some tires more apt to rub due to manufacturer or tire, like 'oh, yeah, Nittos are real high edged, so same size, but more likely to rub'?

That being said, I'm trying to find the new Nokian Outposts, which nobody'd be able to tell me on it, yet!

    Thanks!

275/70-18 fit without any lift on stock wheels, 33.2 to 33.5 tall, depending on manufacturer. People have stuffed 295/70-18s on stock setup as well. 285/65-18 will fit, no issue on stock truck with stock wheels. Only issue you may have with the sizes I mention would be if you have aftermarket wheels with less offset. less offset pushes the tires out, so you can rub on bumper or body mount depending on tire size and the wheel offset.

and yes some tire brands are smaller/bigger. For instance, I have run Coopers and BFG, then ran Wildpeaks in the same size. Wildpeaks were slightly larger than those other two, but it is minor, few tenths of an inch taller and wider. Visually noticeable, but not enough difference to cause any fitment issues.

Your more aggressive tread, think side lugs that protrude, are definitely more prone to rub than a milder tread pattern. Mud tread patterns vs most AT/street generally need more clearance.
