Well, if you get a Whipple you may find yourself fraternizing with @reywcms and that guy doesn’t seem to save anybody money, ever. You’ll spend far more than that 700. :D

I value reliability, good cooling performance, and ease of access/serviceability personally. For these reasons I love my Harrop. Pick your most important qualities and that helps narrow it down.

Like I said, depends on RPM and pressure ratio. This chart compares the 2300 and 2650 operating at 15psi. 2300 has the edge below 7,000 blower RPM. The 2650 has the edge for most everything over that. My 2650 spins at 12,000ish RPM at redline for example. Basically, with my pulley size it would take less power to spin a 2300 below 3400 engine RPM and less to spin a 2650 above that RPM. To make 15 psi it would cost 47hp. I make about 9, so I’m betting it costs me probably more like 30-40. In a way it’s all negligible horsepower wise on our low boost applications. The intercooler efficiency is really the game changer between smaller and larger IMO.

I'm in CA, so i'll have to stick with the CARB approved tune during SMOG check's, but just thinking if i want to have Sniv mess with it inbetween.

    Looks like they use HP

Lower the gear the less strength. Also long term plans for a built motor 5.29 would be way too much gear for the power goal. Hell the truck doesn’t have a problem running 4.30s

Depending on how many bushels of barley you tow, you may want 5.29s.

I'm getting this for the GX. Has hard, flat bottom and sides. The XL version should work nicely in the Tundra.

Maggy is not advertised, but offered by vendors on the DL.

I ended up buying the Whipple in the end anyway. Next year installation, though :(.

I'll see if I can get the psb1 installed prior.

Anyone have a picture/parts list for the boost port on the Whipple?

Why’s everyone getting a Speedmaster now? Whats different about it over a Powertrax?

Once i place the order i'll probably start looking at the supporting mods.

I"m guessing that the PSB-1 is on the top of the list? anything else i should be looking for a deal on?

Rumor was the tundra powertrax had been discontinued, but someone posted an email from powertrax saying they'd be back in stock in December. I just ordered one through jegs for $730 shipped, so hopefully they're actually available.

Once you get the powertrax and are supercharged, do traction bars next as axle hop becomes a bitch. Ask me how I know.

I have a AAL and never noticed any hop. I guess the added strength to the springs helps.

Nerdy post alert. Something interesting I just noticed looking at the Harrop sale on their website. I saw Harrop superchargers are manufactured to AS9100 standards, which is an aerospace quality management standard. I looked up the requirements to meet that standard and it’s actually pretty wild. Maybe @snivilous can comment seeing as he is in that industry. That alone I’m sure makes it 5-10% more expensive to manufacture the Harrop over other brands. All of this to say, at least you get that high level of confidence in the manufacturing of the product for all those dollars spent.

Powertrax are supposed to be in stock on 12-13 to Jan.
I'm going with speedmaster as it's preloaded and has 6 pinion gears over the powertrax 3.
The price for the powertrax is nice though.
    Email from powertrax.
