It's certainly appreciated and what makes this enjoyable, but when you're looking for that one tidbit of information it gets in the way. I'm just as guilty.

Whatever this forum told me to do
Speaking for myself, I'm not the person I was at the beginning of the thread.

I have learned so much from you guys.

Living thru all ~500 pages was educational, to say the least.

yes, there was, more than occasional comic relief to this epic, but the journey was necessary - at least it was for me.

    Thanks all.

I will will be back here in the cheap seats, poised to inject necessary semi-useless info.

I too couldn't see myself going through 500+ pages. I read the first post and a few pages after. I read some stuff I already knew from having a SC years back. So I decided to jump to the end when I bought my SC. @snivilous has been very and I mean very informative on his email about all my questions. He has explained in detail how tuning works through HPT since I like to know what I am looking at and also learn a thing or 2. So much that, I actually changed a cell in the tune. Wrote the new change to the ECU and went for a data log run.

Yeah, I just searched "coolant expansion tanks aluminum" in eBay and found a shit ton of options for sizes and shapes! Thanks because this helps me with another project I'm working on.

As an outsider trying to find their way into this thread a few months back, it was overwhelming to say the least. And while not anywhere near the level, i can see the same fate for the turbo thread.

What I feel like would help is almost like a "beginner", "intermediate" and "expert" type of breakdown since you all have such a broad and diverse audience. It's like any other data mgmt plan or folder structure, though, and is not an easy task.

I'll be flight following. Kudos to everyone for even thinking about the FNGs trying to get savvy

I wouldn't tell anyone to read the thread. Glance through the first post, then comment and ask questions. There's way too much shit in this thread to try and digest it, and simple basic questions at least gives us something to talk about

Bwahahaha. I read your first post about 700 times, got 134 pages in, and then gave up. It is a really cool journey, though, but not for someone trying to learn FI via SC 101s, and asking basic questions may feel like asking a F1 driver how to parallel park.

What’s a thread without useless banter anyway, we are just here to talk boost even if it’s not of substance. For example, I saw this video again that probably most have already seen even in this thread, and dammit I'm here to share it again cause man does it sound good. Also, now in retrospect I never thought I’d be able to hit a similar 1/8 or 1/4 mile as this truck when I first saw the video, and now here I am! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4PMXaXwj860&pp=ygUNZWthbm9vIHR1bmRyYQ==

I fail to reject the null hypothesis that reading this thread has no impact on your savings account. Instead the known datapoints show a strong negative correlation. I propose creating a FAQ would be such a financial burden to a new readers savings account as to create legal liability. Thus slow dripping the wisdom found in this tome of 520+ pages is essential.

Time spent on this thread vs savings account balance (2024 colorized):

    It’s a 12.8 1/4 mile and a 8.2 1/8 mile.

    It would be something like:

Beginner: Save $10k and invest in IWM or IVV. Have a cold beverage and enjoy your NA 5.7.

Intermediate: Have $10k, have dealer or shop install the Magnuson 2650 kit. Don’t touch the engine bay again, don’t read this thread or forever open pandora’s box. Fill up with premium gas. Enjoy!!!

Advanced: Have $20-30k. Spend 200 hours to read this thread to limit buying the wrong stuff or stuff you outgrow/blowing up your motor/transmission. Create a monster hoonigan 600-700hp truck. Smile and make lots of noise.
