Been wandering thru the forum looking for member general impressions of their Gen3's. Predictably, folk are very passionate! This is my 4th Tundra - '08, '12, '18 so I'm very familiar with fit/finish, reliability, resale etc. Traded the '18 with 41,000 miles for the '22 - in this berserk used car market got $1300 less than I paid for it. BTW, I'm very familiar with the cat and mouse trade in game and rest assured this was a killer deal. Fit and finish on the '22 is immaculate. No molding rubber hanging out anywhere, no excessive wind noise, etc. Wanted to mention how differently the thing handles over the Gen2's. While it's very hard to put the differences into words, the most obvious difference is less understeer. Still can't rationalize how the frame/rear coils feel different, but they do! Steering and braking are more "crisp". The trip computer is currently registering 18.9 mpg on 87 octane 10% government garbage fuel with 415 miles on the odo. All 4 have been SR5 double cabs and this one has noticeably less leg room in the back. So, overall, I'm glad to have pulled the trigger on the '22. Goes without saying that time will tell.

I agree with just about everything you said. The only issues I have had are the fuel gauge jumping back to full on the first two tanks of fuel. That has since stopped completely. The other issue is the one piece of window seal trim that has popped up a bit on the rear passenger window. Other than that, I have not had any of the issues others have reported (knock on wood). The gas mileage is improving with every fill up. I have no real complaints and I am very happy with it. I definitely love it more than two previous Tundras I owned. I do miss the turning radius on the previous gen though.

Very early as I'm not even a week in and approaching 500 miles but, love it so far. computer reads 18.2 through my varying RPM break-in in town and freeway. Ride is really good, great feel, no roll and she scoots pretty well. No wind noise problems others have mentioned. I can hear the kids in the back complaining about my music selection so not sure which I'd prefer.

I've also been loving my Limited DC OR. I'm coming out of a 2018 Tacoma OR and mainly traded up for a 6.5' bed and because I got $3k less on trade after 4 years and 66k miles than I paid for it brand new.

This is my first full size truck and I will say it feels HUGE compared to the Taco, especially when attempting U turns. I'll get used to it though. It drives SOOOOOO much smoother than the Taco in every way. Cleaner power delivery, no hunting for gears or lurchy shifts, softer over bumps, quieter, and the interior is so much nicer and more comfortable. Wireless carplay is amazing and I don't think I will ever be able to go back to a car without it.

My biggest gripe with the truck is with the lane centering. It seems like the system has a limited amount of torque it will apply to the wheel before the truck will start drifting out of the lane because it's not turning hard enough. Then, once it's drifted out of the lane, the system just kicks off with no notice to the driver besides a light on the MID that blinks the moment it gives up control. No prior warning or anything. Seems incredibly dangerous and I hope it gets fixed in a software update.

Lane centering is by far my biggest disappointment with the truck. Not that I expected much but man, it’s freaking awful.

Granted, I’m coming from European cars that have been doing it for a long time but I don’t think I’ll ever turn it on again.

Have 4000 trouble free miles on our 1794 that replaced a 2019 platinum, would agree it’s quite an improvement really nothing I like better about the 2019 than the 2022, I think Toyota did a great job. Have a few minor beefs such as the garbage trailer tow mirrors I never ordered they are ridiculous create a big blind spot at cross walks. Quirky seat settings. 14 inch screen that can’t be split… dumb. Auto stop engine painful. Ride power handling are great. Mileage significantly better.
