    hello all,

new to the forum and looking for some general info about the AIP issues and the bypass options. I introduced myself earlier today and while i do not have a tundra yet, i will as soon as i find one i want.

My questions are related to the AIP and bypass options. It seems like Gen 1 and Gen 2 are pretty well guaranteed to have the pump/valve failures? And only the bypass will work if the dealer has not reflashed the ECM? Any documented widespread cases on the 3rd Gens or just isolated cases? Also, even if the pumps have been replaced previously it still sounds like there have been some cases where they have failed again?

When i buy a tundra, i should have the dealer run the VIN and see if the pumps have been replaced and ECM reflashed i would assume. If it has not been replaced, should i wait until they fail to put the bypass system on or do it as soon as i get the truck as a precautionary measure?

Sorry for the long winded post, just trying to be as informed as possible. I have done searches and am still coming up with some questions, hence starting the thread.

    Thanks in advance!
